You have made the first step towards feeling supported (that’s huge!) As your therapist, I am in your corner. I want you to be the best version of yourself possible. With that being said, I will ask the tough questions and help navigate you through the obstacles you are currently trying to manage. You will be heard and respectful in a safe, nonjudgmental space. You have been tackling your emotions, stresses, and frustration on your own — but you don’t have to!

I know how difficult it is to open up. Thoughts start running through your head, and you begin to second guess your decision. Part of working with the right counselor is feeling safe enough to bear your feelings. The time we spend together is your time, and we will overcome the hurdles you are facing. As your counselor, I will provide a listening ear. It’s time to get it all out so you can move forward and live a healthier, happier life.

So many emotions are involved with therapy. Sometimes you laugh, you may cry, or you may even feel uncomfortable. All of those feelings are helping you progress towards your goals. Being vulnerable and allowing emotions that you may typically hideaway to come through is not only important, it is also healthy.

I have degrees in Theatre, History, and Education with a Masters in counseling from TWU! Before beginning my work as a therapist, I spent many wonderful years as a teacher and then as a school counselor. I have also worked as an adult and couples counselor at night in Allen at a private practice.  I work well with marginalized groups (and I have specific training and experience here.)  I am acutely aware of the additional challenges faced by non-majority people in our society (whether you’re marginalized because of race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or other factors), and these issues cannot be ignored during therapy.  I am the mother of a 23-year-old, and I have four cats and two dogs!  I was married for 20 years, divorced amicably, and am now happily remarried. I pride myself on working with others to find their way again. I am honored to work with those who need my support and guidance!
