Discovering Clarity: Transforming Struggles into Richer Connections

If you struggle with a solid relationship with your self (sense of purpose, self-worth, self-confidence, anxiety, depression, or loneliness) or with others (closeness, vulnerability, or conflict) you haven’t developed the skills required to understand the root of your thoughts, emotions, and actions that will help you understand yourself and others in the most authentic way. That’s hard to hear…

I’m a therapist, but I’ve also been there...

You’re balancing the demands of family, work, and kids.

if you don’t do it, who will?

I’ve walked the hard paths of depression and anxiety. Then, the loss of my mother triggered panic attacks. In my intimate partnership, I’ve faced the profound loneliness of carrying the mental and physical load.

Even though I’ve been a mental health therapist for 22 years, I’ve had to also put in the personal work. I’ve dedicated myself to unraveling these complexities through education. I bring a rich educational background to what I teach:

  • B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University
  • M.Ed. in Education in Counseling from the University of North Texas
  • Ph.D. in Family Studies from Texas Woman’s University

My personal journey and professional experience have made me a seeker of self-help resources, earning me the moniker of a walking “Self-Help Library” with a book recommendation for any issue.

I believe in the effectiveness of diving deep into who you are at the core as a way to facilitate deep and profound satisfaction.

Your Key to Alignment Within and Without

Your Internal Working Model (IWM) is your unique mental representation of yourself, others, and relationships based on early experiences. It influences how you approach relationships and perceive the world.

Your IWM is part of your unique attachment style. Not knowing your IWM can profoundly impact your relationships with yourself others. It is a hidden force that fosters relationship conflicts and internal struggles – intimacy, conflict, lack self-esteem, lack of purpose, or diminished self-worth – when not managed.

FAQs

What is an Individual Mental Health Intensive?

An Individual Intensive is a focused and immersive 4-hour therapy session designed to learn how your attachment style and internal working model impact your relationship with yourself and with other people. You’ll have dedicated space and time for self-reflection to get alternative perspectives, regulate strong emotions, and change behaviors.

Why choose a 4-Hour Mental Health Intensive?

Embarking on a journey of self-discovery is a powerful commitment, and our 4-hour individual counseling intensives are tailored to maximize the impact of every moment. Here’s why dedicating this focused time to yourself can be the key to unlocking your true potential:

  • Deep Dive into Personal Insights: Unlike traditional counseling sessions that may span weeks, the individual intensives provide a condensed and immersive experience – like having 4 sessions in one. This allows you to dive deep into your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, uncovering insights that might take longer to emerge in a standard setting.
  • Accelerated Progress: The concentrated nature of a 4-hour intensive session moves you along faster. You’ll make significant strides in understanding and overcoming challenges that answer “Why do I do that?”
  • Concentrated Attention: Individual counseling intensives are crafted with you in mind. You’ll have undivided attention with no external distractions, tailoring the session to address your unique needs and goals.
  • Catalyst for Lasting Change: The intensity of these sessions serves as a catalyst for lasting change. By delving into the core of your experiences, you can identify patterns that keep you harboring shame, resentment, anger, and loneliness.

How is an Intensive Session Different from Regular Counseling?

The attachment-based intensive sessions offers a condensed and immersive experience, allowing for a deeper exploration of thoughts, emotions, and actions. The concentrated format accelerates the therapeutic process, leading to quicker breakthroughs and tangible tools for personal growth. In this 4-hour session, you will learn your attachment style and get a workbook to help you understand your attachment style and internal working model.

What Issues Can be Addressed in a 4-Hour Intensive Session?

The individual mental health intensive gives you a sound foundation that will help you walk away with this main question answered: Why do I feel things and feelings and do the things I do? Then, address many issues that create conflict in your life, including relationship challenges, career transitions, self-esteem, stress management, and personal development.

How Can a 4-Hour Session Make a Significant Impact?

The extended duration of the session allows for a more in-depth exploration of challenges and the development of practical strategies. This results in accelerated progress, increased self-awareness, and a foundation for lasting positive change.
