R. Patrice Dunn, M.Ed., NCC, LPC

Serving "At-Risk" Youth, Teens, Couples, Individuals and Families...

Child rearing and creating a healthy, happy family is no easy task. Our personal journey through life is equally hard.

Specializing in work with adolescents and adults, I am passionate about the issues that concern you most:

  • Mild depression
  • Anxiety
  • Self-esteem
  • Adolescent "at-risk" behavior
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Divorce
  • Career dissatisfaction and change
  • Empty-Nest Syndrome
  • Parenting Challenges

I believe all people are inherently good, kind and decent human beings. Yet, our lives are such that we make difficult choices which can lead us astray. Providing direct, goal-oriented treatment, I help you deal with the hand you've been dealt. Some techniques we'll try during our work together are:

  • Homework between sessions
  • Interactive Role playing
  • Rehearsing new experiences
  • Learning the connection between thoughts and actions
  • Understanding how past experiences affects current behavior
  • Re-examine beliefs and expectations

I've been helping families for almost 20 years - current school counselor, presentations and community workshops, court-mandated parent workshops, and professional organizational development.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education Ohio State University and a Master of Education in Counseling from University of North Texas (a program ranked #1 in Texas and #15 in the United States according to US News and World Report).
